Kids and danger - support options

When my girls want to do some thing with danger involved. I feel like I have a few main options.
1. Tell them no, it’s to dangerous and explain why I think so (what could go wrong).
2. Do it for them.
3. Let them try and stay close enough to to keep them safe if something goes wrong but with no assistance.
4. Let them try and assist as little as possible to help them reach their goal.
I mostly use the third and fourth options. I think sometimes not physically helping at all and letting them deal with the frustration is ok, (With two kids this can be harder to deal with if the smaller one wants to do something the bigger one already can do) More often now with our second daughter I use the fourth option and assist minimally to help her feel successful. I think it builds up a nice trust between us.
In the video Mariella wanted to climb the wall but was unable to reach the railing at the top so I tied a towel on where she was able to pull her self up.
Of course her little sister wants to do the same so I offer Some extra steps on my hands and knees But let her still climb herself.
